NER SCCA Interclub Invitational Challenge 2024

Devens Airfield

About this event

Introducing the inaugural NER SCCA Interclub Invitational Challenge 2024

This event is closed. No late registrations this weekend.

This is meant to be a fun and silly event with rules from various clubs amalgamated into one ridiculous event.

When participants register they must choose a club to represent from the following clubs that run at Devens. Teams will be randomly assigned if a club has more than four participants. Maximum number of club participants per team will be four. SCCA is sponsoring this event and will cover the weekend SCCA membership costs for all registrations.

  • NER SCCA
  • Porsche Club of America (NCR and NER)
  • Renegade Miata Club
  • SVT/TrackClub/Bay State Corvette
  • Boston BMWCCA

Scoring

There will be a morning and afternoon session (nod to BMW’s events) and RallyCross scoring will be used.  All runs count towards a cumulative time for the driver.  Cones will be a two second penalty.  Off courses will be a ten second penalty per gate missed, for example if you miss two gates then it will be a 20 seconds penalty. Car breakages will be given the time of the slowest car in the heat.

Car Classing:

Participants must pick a PAX class modifier when registering which will be used to calculate the final team PAX score.  We will be using SCCA classing rules to determine a car’s PAX, please do your best to find the appropriate class for your car.  If you register a Porsche Cayman GT4 in HS, we will penalize and give you the AM pax of 1. The team with the lowest PAX score will be our InterClub Champions.  We will be giving trophies to the top three teams.

Find your car class here: SCCA rules See Appendix A in the '2024 Solo Rules Download' link

Note: Co-drivers are welcome. But only 2 drivers in any one car are allowed.

Parade Lap

After the drivers meeting, we will be doing a parade lap to cut down on course walk time and encourage more runs (Track Club and Friends nod)

Afternoon Course Change

There will be a course change during lunch time and no course walk will be given.  The changes may be as simple as a cone flip for entry to a slalom or something more complicated. We plan on communicating where the changes will be made.

Lunch and Removing Cones

Pizza will be served for lunch (SVT nod).

During lunch each participant can attempt to remove cones (maximum 3) from their cumulative end of day time.  Each participant will have three chances to flip a cone and have it land upright.  For each attempt, if the cone lands upright, 2 seconds will be deducted from their overall time. Participants have a maximum of three attempts and a 6 seconds reduction in their raw time
